COVID-19 and Your Oral Health

Thank you to our network dentists

Since the beginning of COVID-19, dentists have been among our health care heroes.

In March, they were asked to close their offices to routine visits and only care for urgent or emergency dental problems. Because of their dedication, compassion and bravery, so many people were able to safely get the care they needed during the pandemic.

Thank you to all of the dentists in our networks – and across the nation – who helped to keep everyone healthy.

Getting back to a new normal dental routine

The good news is, dentist’s offices may soon be getting back to routine dental care.

States and local governments are considering when it will be safe to allow certain essential businesses to reopen, including dental offices. Some areas have already allowed their dental offices to open up again.

To help dentists to prepare, the American Dental Association has provided guidelines to help keep patients and staff as safe as possible. Your dental office will likely have some new processes in place so you can feel more secure getting back to your preventive care routine.

But until you’re able to see your dentist in person, here are some resources to help you keep your mouth healthy at home.
